For the 1st time after independence, thousands of villages of UP to be equipped with Village Secretariat

Lucknow, 03 April: The Yogi government is engaged in realizing the dream of village swaraj of farmers and villagers in UP. In the last four years, the State Government has made every effort to change both the โ€˜Suratโ€™ and the โ€˜Siratโ€™ of the villages of UP.

For the first time Village Secretariat is ready in the form of 2498 panchayat buildings in the villages of UP. With the formation of the Village Secretariat, the villagers will get rid of running the block and tehsil headquarters for every small and big work.

A government spokesperson said that these panchayat buildings, constructed at a cost of Rs 318.14 crore, have been equipped with many modern facilities including internet. With this, 206 multipurpose panchayat buildings have been constructed for the first time. Through which the villagers will be able to conduct all public functions and other events with convenient coverage within the village itself.

For the development of villages, the state government has also made a provision of Rs 25 crore for the Mukhyamantri Panchayat Protsahan Puraskar Yojana (MPPPY). To empower the village panchayats digitally, 3145 laptops are being distributed and the villages are being pushed towards digitalisation as per Prime Minister Modi’s plan.

So far, 26 Panchayat Learning Centers have been established in 24 districts. Construction of 718 funeral sites has also been completed with an expenditure of Rs. 206.58 crore. Uttar Pradesh received the National e-Governance Award for outstanding performance by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India. 5 lakh women committees have been formed.

Not only this, the Yogi government has connected the roads with highway and main roads with concrete roads, which are synonymous with raw trails and bad roads. 4450 pink toilet made for women and girls. 15 thousand women employed cleaners. More than 80 thousand general cleaners have been deployed.

Not only this, a provision of Rs 7000 crore has been made in the new budget under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. A provision of Rs. 369 crore has been made under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. Under Batch 1 of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana 3, a budget of Rs 5000 crore has been proposed for the villages.
