Fire breaks out in AG’s office in Prayagraj

Prayagraj, 17 July: A fire broke out at the Uttar Pradesh Advocate General’s office in Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar building opposite Allahabad High Court on Sunday.

“Firefighting was carried out by a total of 18 fire tenders to douse the fire between fifth and ninth floors,” Shailesh Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Prayagraj.

According to insiders, the files of all government cases are maintained on the eighth floor here. All of the cases’ files are taken to the Allahabad High Court, where the attorneys present their arguments.

Manohar Yadav, Chief Engineer, Electrical Mechanical Division, arrived in Prayagraj from Lucknow to examine the cause of the fire in the Advocate General’s office. He is accompanied by a technical team that will investigate the source of the fire. Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister, has taken notice of the situation and issued orders to officials.
