Farmer found hanging from Neem tree in Prayagraj, police probe underway

Prayagraj, April 3: A 50-year-old farmer was found hanging from a neem tree near his home under Sarai Mamarez police station limits in Prayagraj; the police have taken the body into custody, stating that prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide, though a post-mortem will confirm the exact cause of death.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ganganagar Kuldeep Singh Gunawat said that Rajendra Kumar (50), a resident of the Sarai Mamarez police station area, was a farmer and supported his two daughters and son through farming.

The DCP further told that on Friday morning, it was discovered that Rajendra’s body was hanging from a neem tree in a garden a short distance from his home. The police team, who arrived on the information, took the body into custody and began an investigation. The police team said that prima facie the case appears to be a suicide. Nevertheless, a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
