E-booking to be done for Rs 1 in UP’s 1st smart parking in Kanpur

Kanpur, 08 September: The state’s first smart parking was finally launched on Wednesday. During the launch, Mayor Pramila Pandey said that online booking will be done in this park through the app for one rupee. No vehicle owner will have to pay on the spot of parking. 292 vehicles can be parked in this parking.

Kargil Park and Lajpat Bhawan Smart Parking were started by Mayor Pramila Pandey and Minister of State Neelima Katiyar. Smart Parking at Lajpat Bhawan and Kargil Park was launched simultaneously. In this, 134 cars and 158 two-wheelers can be parked.

Smart City IT Manager Rahul Sabharwal said that three employees have been deployed with e-posh machines to operate the parking.

Divisional Commissioner Raj Shekhar informed that smooth, safe and well-planned parking has started. Kanpur Smart City Parking App can be downloaded from Google Playstore and iOS Store. To overcome the problem of booking online parking through Kanpur Smart Parking App, Smart City has imposed a parking fee of Re. Only one rupee will have to be paid for each car and bike. This fee will have to be paid only in online booking for some time as a trial. While there will be completely free parking on spot.

The commissioner informed that smart parking is ready at 42 places across the city. These will also be started soon. Smart parking will be started at 13 places in Phase-I. In this, about 1 thousand four-wheelers and 1430 two-wheelers can be parked.
