Delhi Police arrest 9 Nigerians accused of cheating women on matrimonial sites

New Delhi, 30 December: The Delhi Police busted a gang involved in creating fake account at a matrimonial site.

However, the police arrested nine members of the International Gang, including two women, in the case. Police seized a car, 64 mobiles, four laptops, four wifi routers, four dish TVs and 19530 rupees from them.

So far this gang has cheated more than Rs 55 lakhs. The accused were identified as Felix, Daniel, James Ozioma, Kristen, Ukaka, Efeniyi, Tobena Prince and Immanuel Anagar.

According to the police, on October 5, a complaint of fraud of Rs 85 thousand was received. In this case, a case was registered at Daryaganj police station.

The victim told the police that she had been cheated by creating a fake account at the matrimonial site.

Meanwhile, the police took the help of technical surveillance, gathered information about the accused and then arrested them by carried out raid in a house.

Felix, an accused in the case, revealed during police interrogation that he runs call center to cheat people. The people of this gang used to create fake accounts on the matrimonial site by telling oneself from a rich family, made false promises of marriage to women. After this, we use to talk about coming to India from abroad for engagement. Women are said to be bringing great gifts for them. In the name of confiscation and release of gifts by customs officials, we use to get money from women in our bank accounts.

All the accused are originally from Nigeria. His visa has also expired. This gang used to talk about being involved in the clothing business to show people.
