New Delhi, 14 October: Union Information and Broadcasting (I&B) Minister Anurag Singh Thakur on Thursday launched My Parking App to make parking easier in Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Anurag Thakur said that parking is a complex problem and this app is an attempt to help people plan their trips better. People will be able to park their vehicles without any inconvenience by booking online parking slots through the app or card.

He said that with the ease of parking with the app, the time taken in searching for parking spots will be reduced. This will also reduce pollution.

He expressed hope that other municipal corporations will learn from the experience of MyParkings and adopt similar solutions.

The ‘MyParking’ app was launched on the occasion in the presence of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) Mayor Mukesh Suryan, SDMC Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti and BECIL CMD (Chairman and Managing Director) George Kuruvilla.

The MyParkings application is developed under the aegis of BECIL. MyParkings is an IoT (Internet of Things) technology-enabled end-to-end digital solution. It can be used on both Android and iOS platforms through mobile apps, prepaid cards, enabled smart QR codes.

This app has been developed by Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) in association with South Delhi Municipal Corporation for the purpose of digitization of all authorized parking spaces under SDMC Municipality limits. This facility will be started in other Municipality Divisions across India in future.
