Deepika Kumari reclaims World No 1 ranking after triple Gold at AWC

Ranchi, 28 June: Jharkhand’s female archer Deepika Kumari won a gold medal on Monday after winning three gold medals on Sunday in the third edition of the World Cup. Earlier, she had also achieved the number one ranking in the year 2012.

Meanwhile, her parents are very happy with this stellar performance of Deepika. Celebrations are being held in Deepika’s house after winning consecutive gold medals and family members are congratulating each other by distributing sweets. Not only this, the entire area is celebrating this achievement of Deepika.

Shivnarayan, father of Deepika, who reached the world peak in archery, said that we are very happy. Deepika’s next target is Olympics. We hope she brings the gold medal along with her husband (Atanu Das).

He said that it is a matter of pride for us that daughter is winning gold medal one after the other. This creates a festive atmosphere in the house.

Congratulating and wishing Deepika and her husband Atanu Das, he has said that we hope that both will win more gold medals.

Deepika’s mother Geeta Devi said that now there are two players in our family. They feel more confident playing together. They will definitely win a medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Archer Deepika Kumari has won four gold medals in the World Cup so far. She is the only female archer from India to compete in the Tokyo Olympics next month. This is Deepika’s third Olympics. Deepika’s father drives an auto and her mother is a nurse.

According to the information, when Deepika was young, she took ten rupees from her father and took part in a competition for the first time. This competition was held in Lohardaga district, in which Deepika won and from here her career started.

In the year 2005, his father Shivnarayan, after seeing her performance, took her to the Arjun Archery Academy Kharsawan to get coaching in archery.

However, Deepika got admission in an academy run by Union Tribal Affairs Minister and wife of former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, Meera Munda, where she learned archery skills. In the year 2006, Deepika got selected in Tata Archery Academy Jamshedpur.

In the same year, Deepika won gold in compound singles at the World Championships held in Mexico. Deepika got married to Atanu Das on June 30, 2020. Deepika Kumari has had to struggle a lot to reach here.
