Crime: Accused wanted in robbery case in UP arrested from Maharashtra

Mumbai, 26 February: Asbad Talib Sheikh, 33, an absconder from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh carrying a reward of Rs 50 thousand on his head, was arrested by the Crime Branch of Thane Police from Hari Niwas Circle in Naupada on February 25, police said.

According to information provided by Thane police today, on February 25 a STF team from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, came to Thane in search of this absconding accused. After getting the information, the team of Crime Branch Inspector Krishna Kokani of Thane Police Datta Sarak arrested the accused from Naupada.

It is noteworthy that the accused Aswad Sheikh had escaped from Phulpur in Azamgarh district on September 27, 2019 by robbing the complainant’s car and looting an amount of Rs 12 lakh 20 thousand.

The Uttar Pradesh government had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 on the accused.
