Congress to contest on 11 Lok Sabha seats in UP, SP says ‘Okay’

Lucknow, 27 January: Congress, the main constituent of INDI- Alliance, an alliance of opposition parties, will contest elections on 11 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. Alliance constituent Samajwadi Party has agreed to this. Consensus has already been reached on 07 Lok Sabha seats for Rashtriya Lok Dal in the state.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday gave information about seat sharing with Congress in Uttar Pradesh through social media platform X. 

Akhilesh has written that our cordial alliance with Congress from 11 Lok Sabha seats is off to a good start. This trend will continue further with the winning equation.

With this post of Akhilesh, the speculations about turmoil regarding seat-sharing among the constituent parties of INDI-A in the state have come to an end. 

Earlier, Akhilesh had informed about leaving 07 Lok Sabha seats for Rashtriya Lok Dal. There are 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh.

On the question of INDIA’s seat distribution, senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dr Dinesh Sharma said that it is not going to last for long. As the elections approach, cracks will start appearing in it.
