CM Yogi instructs to increase storage capacity of Covid vaccine to 2.30 lakh liters by Dec 15

Lucknow, 05 December: The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during a meeting held at his residence on Saturday discussed in detail the availability of coronavirus vaccine and establishment of cold chain required for it.

He directed to increase the storage capacity to 2.30 lakh liters by December 15.

The Chief Minister said that for this, cold chain should be arranged for storage of corona vaccine at district and divisional level. Also, by coordinating with the Police Department, all arrangements for vaccine safety should be made so that timely availability of the vaccine can be ensured.

He said that the safety of the vaccine storage site should be ensured in exactly the same way as the safety of EVMs during elections.

He also instructed to train a large number of master trainers for the vaccination programme.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad informed that the capacity of the presently existing cold chain in the state is 90 thousand liters, which now needs to be increased to 02 lakh 30 thousand liters.

He apprised that fast action is being taken in this regard and this target of capacity addition will be achieved by December 15.
