Lakhimpur Kheri, April 11: While distributing land ownership rights certificates to 331 Hindu families displaced from Bangladesh on Saturday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that sinful Pakistan is about to be further dismembered.

He said that the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian communities have suffered the most from the politics of appeasement. The Chief Minister announced the renaming of Mianpur to ‘Ravindra Nagar’ and said that no region will now be identified with symbols of slavery.

On this occasion, he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 213 development projects worth Rs 417 crore in three assembly constituencies. He also distributed cheques to a large number of beneficiaries.

Chief Minister said that today, nearly seven thousand families, or approximately 35,000 people, have been granted land rights in Lakhimpur Kheri district. After Palia, now one thousand families in Mohammadi are also being granted these rights. This scheme aims to grant rights to families who came from Bangladesh between 1947 and 1971. Sinful Pakistan, through its actions, caused the partition of India, and then Pakistan itself was divided. Wait, it’s about to be further divided, but the punishment for Pakistan’s sins fell on the Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians living there, as there is no place for any other religion.

He said that Bangladesh rejected these people and seized their land and ancestral property. However, previous governments did not grant rights to those who came here after the tragedy. They took their votes, but never granted ownership rights. In fact, to hide their identity, the village was renamed Mianpur, even though there is not a single Mian there.

Chief Minister said that now you will be known as ‘Rabindra Nagar’, after Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, the author of the national anthem. The land of Bengal is the land of India’s spiritual and cultural heritage. Gurudev gave India the national anthem, and Bankim Chandra Chatterjee is the author of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’. This is the year of completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram. On this occasion, you have acquired ownership of the land where you settled decades ago, but did not get the rights till now.

Yogi said that he has come on behalf of Prime Minister Modi to fulfill the unfulfilled promises made to you decades ago. Your ancestors lived in Bangladesh, but you are now receiving ownership rights in India due to PM Modi’s pledge of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” Persecuted Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains in Bangladesh look to India with hope and faith. India will stand with them. You didn’t just cross the border, you brought with you the pain of shattered dreams. India embraced you. It didn’t ask your caste, sect, or religion; it adopted you and stood with you. The struggle of local public representatives has given you these rights today.

Chief Minister Yogi said that the biggest traitors who divided society on the basis of caste were the result of the division of society in 1947. Those who divide society on the basis of caste, sect, and religion betray the country and future generations. The Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, and Jain communities faced such tragedies during Partition and the 1971 war. Initially, 1,031 families settled here, and their number has now grown to over 5,000, but they have not yet received their rights. Prime Minister Modi passed the law, but opposition parties opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). These parties were not in favor of granting rights to the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, and Jain communities; they only practice appeasement politics.

CM Yogi said that the process of making approximately 1,031 families settled in Lakhimpur Kheri, Gola Gokarannath, Dhaurahra, and Mohammadi owners of 542 hectares of land has been initiated. Four districts, including Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Rampur, and Bijnor, are home to approximately 65,000 displaced Hindus and Sikhs from Bangladesh, for whom the government is committed to granting them ownership rights. For the first time in India’s history, land rights are being granted on such a large scale. The poor have been given the benefits of the Prime Minister’s and Chief Minister’s Housing Schemes, and other eligible individuals will also benefit. Work is underway to provide toilets, electricity, and tap connections to every household.

CM Yogi stated that projects worth โ‚น417 crore were inaugurated/founded in this program today, compared to the previous inauguration/foundation stone laying ceremony of โ‚น1,622 crore in February 2025. Lakhimpur district is the state’s largest district in terms of agriculture and farming, and its original name is “Lakshmipur,” a symbol of prosperity and well-being. Choti Kashi is being developed as a corridor along the lines of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, with 65 percent of the work completed and the remaining work to be completed this year. This will increase tourism and employment opportunities.

In the program, Minister in charge of Lakhimpur Kheri Nitin Agarwal, Environment and Forest Minister Arun Kumar Saxena, MLA Mohammadi Lokendra Pratap Singh, MLA Dhaurahra Vinod Shankar Awasthi, MLA Kasta Saurabh Singh Sonu, MLA Sadar Yogesh Verma, Legislative Council member Anoop Gupta, former Union Minister Krishna Raj, Regional President of Bharatiya Janata Party Kamlesh Mishra, President of Municipal Council Mohammadi Sandeep Malhotra, President of Nagar Panchayat Mailani Kirti Maheshwari etc. were present.
