People are getting medical advice through telemedicine technology

New Delhi, 07 April:  The district administrations are adopting smart methods to tackle and better manage novel coronavirus in the smart cities of the country. People are taking medical advice from doctors through telemedicine technology (Telemedicine involves using modern technology and telecommunications for doctors to visit their patients in a virtual manner) in many smart cities like Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore, Bangalore, Kota, Chennai, Gandhinagar.

COVID-19 patients are being monitored through modern apps in many cities.

According to officials of the Ministry of Urban Development, the ministry is coordinating with hospitals and doctors to make telemedicine useful and effective in smart cities. COVID-19 patients and suspects are being monitored in smart cities, using Geofencing technology, people and patients suspected of coronavirus infection are being watched.

Maintaining social distance is extremely important to fight the corona, a global pandemic. Therefore, online medical counseling facilities are being provided to the people.

It is worth mentioning that the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in collaboration with NITI Aayog and Medical Council of India, are being allowed to provide remote medical services during the lockdown period.

According to these guidelines, doctors can write prescriptions for patients by talking on the telephone or through video, pictures, e-mail, fax and other such social media. The integrated control room in Bhopal Smart City is being used as a helpline and tele-counseling center for citizens. Public information of toll free number 104 integrated with the center has been provided.

In Ujjain, 40 medical mobile units have been operated by doctors to distribute medicines to people on a prescription basis through the control room.

The Rapid Response Team (RRT) and Mobile Action Unit (MAU) in Jabalpur are coordinating with the officials present in the ICCC regarding screening of people, ambulances and quarantines etc.

Nagpur Municipal Corporation has launched the coronavirus application to help citizens with cough, fever and difficulty in breathing.

In this app, citizens will only have to provide information about their symptoms on the basis of which this mobile application will find out whether they have symptoms of corona infection or not. If any such symptoms are found, the mobile application will inform the NMC team of doctors for further monitoring and action.

Similarly in Chennai, 25 doctors have been posted in ICCC. Each of them has been given the responsibility of 250 people living in quarantine. Doctors were asked to help these people ethically and psychologically, if necessary, they can also advise these people to take necessary medicines.
