Blood components units to open in all 75 districts of UP, says ACS Health

Lucknow, June 14: Blood component separation units will soon open in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Blood component units will become functional in the districts in the next three to four months. With the opening of this unit in the districts, patients will not have to run to the city for RBC, WBPL, platelets and plasma, said Amit Mohan Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health.

Prasad inaugurated the program organized at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital on Tuesday on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day.

Amit Mohan Prasad said that today on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, awareness campaign is being run in the entire state. On behalf of the state government, we are also respecting the blood donors. We appeal to the people to donate blood without any hesitation.

ACS Medical and Health said that if diseases increase during rainy days, some need plasma, some need red cells and some need platelets. It is our endeavour that in the next two to three months, blood component separation will be opened in all the districts of the state.

He further added that there is no need to panic about Corona. Be careful and use a mask.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health also inspected the blood bank of the hospital.
