Lucknow, October 18: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has congratulated BJP-backed candidate Nitin Agarwal on the victory of the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, calling it a picture of the 2022 Vidhan Sabha election results.

He has said that the entire opposition, including the Samajwadi Party, is plagued by contradictions.

Chief Minister Yogi said that even in the election of Vice President, Samajwadi Party could not unite the opposition. He also knew about the Vis Vice-President result and is also aware of the 2022 election results. The result which has come today, the same will come once again in 2022 also.

Chief Minister Yogi was addressing the House on Monday after the victory of Nitin Agarwal in the Deputy Speaker’s election in the Legislative Assembly.

Yogi also expressed sympathy for Verma after SP candidate Narendra Verma got only 60 votes.

At the same time, he said that if the same SP had made him a candidate four years ago, he could have possibly won. But, knowing the result, his own party made him a candidate for the Deputy Speaker election. This is a hoax, which SP did to Narendra Verma.

Taking a jibe at the SP as the largest opposition party, the Chief Minister said that the BJP waited for the full four-and-a-half years, but the SP did not put forward any name for the post of Deputy Speaker. They do not even know the identity of their members. Finally, seeing the last six months of the House remaining, the BJP took steps towards fulfilling this tradition.

Expressing happiness over getting a young, energetic and experienced Deputy Speaker in the form of Nitin Agarwal, he said that ‘technically’ Nitin is also a member of SP and thus BJP has followed the tradition of the House.

Talking about the defeat of the Samajwadi Party in the 2022 assembly elections, the Chief Minister exhorted the SP to rise above the thinking of familyism and think in the larger interest.

He said that for the SP the family is the state, whereas for the BJP the entire state is a family.

Chief Minister Yogi also left a splash of humour in the atmosphere of the house which was heated due to the election of the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

On the heated argument between Leader of Opposition Ramgovind Chaudhary and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna before the voting, the Chief Minister said that the Leader of Opposition was talking in a big way in the morning, but Parliamentary Affairs Minister has also eaten Shahjahanpur flour and the leader with the same strength Responded to the opposition. Now the leader of the opposition should eat the black carrot pudding of Ballia.

He said that Leader of Opposition Ramgovind is a gentleman who believes in dialogue, but does not have the strength to face party contradictions. Therefore unnecessary fights take place in the house.

Chief Minister Yogi also referred to the 36-hour special discussion on ‘Sustainable Development Goal’ held in the House on the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi and said that when the issues like poverty, illiteracy, women’s upliftment, youth welfare are discussed, the Samajwadi Party never participates.

The CM also thanked all the members who participated in the discussion on many topics of public importance in the Legislature in the last four and a half years.
