Varanasi, August 12: The Medical Superintendent of the Sir Sunderlal Hospital of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Prof S.K. Mathur, on the incident of the replacement of the body of the Additional CMO of Varanasi in the hospital, has constituted a committee to investigate the entire incident.

The committee constituted will investigate the entire matter and submit the report to him.

He said that ACMO died tragically in the early morning today. He was suffering from coronavirus disease and died during treatment. Around that time, another elderly patient suffering from same infection was brought dead to the ICU. After the entire operation at different places, the bodies were kept in the same pattern body bag in the mortuary.

โ€œHowever, it has come to notice that the body was recovered by the relatives of one patient. Whereas, after seeing the body by the relatives of the other deceased, it was found that this body is not of his patient,โ€ Prof Mathur apprised.

He informed that appropriate action will be taken in this matter as per rules.
