Banks to remain closed for four days after Diwali

New Delhi, 25 October: Even after Diwali in the festive month of October, banks will remain closed for four days in many parts of the country for the remaining six days. Although banks are functioning in many states including Delhi, Haryana and Punjab on Tuesday, but in some states, banks will remain closed due to festive holidays.

According to the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday list, banks will remain closed on the occasion of many other festivals including Govardhan Puja and Bhai Dooj. During the remaining six days of this month from October 26 to 31, there will be bank holidays at many places across the country due to weekly and gazetted holidays.

Many local festivals are celebrated on different days in different states and banks will remain open in some cities, while in some cities they will remain closed.

October 25: Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Lakshmi Puja/Diwali/Govardhan Puja in Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, while in Pink City Jaipur, banks will also remain closed.

October 26: Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bangalore, Dehradun, Gangtok, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Shimla, Srinagar on the occasion of Govardhan Puja, Vikram Samvat New Year Day, Bhai Bij, Bhai Dooj, Diwali, Lakshmi Puja and Pravesh Day Banks will remain closed due to holidays.

October 27: Banks will remain closed in Gangtok, Imphal, Kanpur, Lucknow on the occasion of Bhai Dooj, Chitragupta Jayanti, Lakshmi Puja, Deepawali, Ningol, Chakkuba festival.

October 30: Being the fifth Sunday of the month, banks will remain closed as weekly off.

October 31: Banks will remain closed in Patna and Ranchi on the occasion of Chhath Puja.
