Assets of jailed gangster-turned-MLA Mukhtar Ansari’s wife attached in Ghazipur

Ghazipur, 26 October: A commercial complex worth Rs 2 crore built in the middle of Ghazipur city in the name of Afsa Begum-wife of jailed gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, was attached by the district administration on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the district administration took action to attach 32 acre of 1150 square meters of piece of land under construction shopping complex located in Sadar Kotwali Deodhi Ballabhdas Mohalla in the name of Mukhtar Ansari’s wife.

Sadar Circle Officer (CO) Ojaswi Chawla said that under the ongoing drive against the mafias across the state, on the orders of the District Magistrate (DM) MP Singh, under Section 14 (1) of the Gangster Act, under construction shopping complex of Afsa Ansari, wife of Mukhtar Ansari, resident of Tailor Mohalla, Mohammadabad Kotwali area has been confiscated.

According to the report of PWD, the cost of this under-construction complex is around Rs 2 crore 84 lakh.

Sadar SHO Deepender Singh, Sadar SDM Anirudh Pratap Singh, Naib Tehsildar and other officers and police personnel were present during the action.

Significantly, continuous action is going on against Mukhtar Ansari whoโ€™s illegally possessed properties worth crores of rupees have been confiscated or attached so far in various districts of the state including Ghazipur, Mau and Lucknow.
