Kanpur, 9 Aug: The Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad have accused the Muslims of tampering with the Tricolour while participating in a Muharram procession here.

They have requested that the Police Commissioner investigate this situation and file a case. “Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad addressed the commissioner against the way these ‘jihadis’ are working on the planning of ‘Gajwa-e-Hind’ under the jihadi mindset,” claimed Bajrang Dal’s Krishna Tiwari. They also disrespected the national flag and the Ashoka Chakra, he alleged.

“After removing the Ashoka Chakra, a moon and star image was substituted. And we are condemning it since it is a criminal violation,? Tiwari explained. In response to the charges, Kanpur Police Commissioner BP Jogdand told them that an inquiry would be conducted and that if something similar occurred, harsh punishment would be carried out. “People from other organisations approached us, and we referred the probe to DCP East. If the national flag is insulted, action will be taken,” said BP Jogdand.
