Janta curfew: On Modi’s calls, India claps, rings bell, blows conch shells to express gratitude to COVID-19 fighters

Chandigarh, March 22: Responding to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi calls to express gratitude towards all those who are at your service 24/7 to fight against COVID-19, the public across the country at 5 PM on #JantaCurfew”, came out of their houses and in their balconies, terrace clapping, beating utensils, ringing bells and blowing conch to show solidarity with medical staffs, police, emergency workers who are working day and night in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak.  

In Tricity Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali, the sky reverberated with clapping, beating thali, blowing conch and drums. People, along with their family greeted the workers standing on the balcony, roofs of houses and main gates.

 The scene was different in the flat town of Zirakpur in Punjab.People did not leave the house all day but at five o’clock, with full enthusiasm, not only the people living in the flat, the houses, but also the people living in the slums and labourers on the side of the roads also participated in it.

Private security staff posted in various societies also joined to express gratitude to all those who are working tirelessly during COVID-19 outbreak.
