Chhattisgarh: 5 Naxalites killed in encounter, three jawans martyred, 14 injured, 13 missing

Sukma, March 22: Five Naxalites have been killed in an encounter with Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and District Reserve Guards (DRG) personnel on Friday in the jungles of Minoa and Kasalpad under Burkapal and Chintagufa police stations in Sukma district of Naxal-affected Chhattisgarh.

However, three soldiers were also killed in this encounter and 14 soldiers were injured. At the same time, 13 soldiers are being reported missing.

The injured have been airlifted to Raipur in the late Saturday night.

This information about the encounter was received through DGP, Chhattishgarh DM Awasthi.

At the same time, local officials have denied to speak anything in this matter.

According to the officials, the team is in the jungle right now. When the jawans return, only then the matter will be revealed.

It is worth mentioning that on Friday afternoon, the personnel of DRG, Cobra Battalion left on patrol meanwhile,  Naxalites hiding on the mountain of Kasalpad suddenly fired indiscriminately at the soldiers who were returning to their base.

However, 3 soldiers and 5 Maoists were killed in the ambush. At present 14 jawans are injured and 13 are said to be missing.

In the search operation where the encounter took place, the bodies of five Naxalites and a large amount of bullets and ammunition were recovered from their possession.

14 injured jawans were airlifted and brought to Raipur in the late night.
