Lucknow, 07 Jan: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is focusing most on promoting religious tourism in Ayodhya.

Work on projects under Vision Document-2047 is continuing under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, focusing on ensuring that lakhs of devotees coming here do not face any kind of inconvenience and that they get the benefit of proper civic facilities.

In this sequence, Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) has started covering all the scenic ghats on the banks of the sacred Saryu river with the project of prefabricated bathroom units (PBU), so that the tourists coming here do not have to face any inconvenience in terms of toilet facilities.

After the Pran Pratishtha program on January 22, a huge crowd of devotees will be recorded at Saryu Ghats including Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. On the occasion of Makar Sankranti on January 15, sages, monks, devotees and people of Ayodhya will take a dip in various ghats of Saryu for Magh Snan.

In such a situation, Yogi government and Ayodhya district administration are working to provide them the benefit of toilet facilities through installation and operation of prefab toilets.

ADA officials said that the process of installation, operation and maintenance of 500 prefab toilets at Saryu Ghats, which has been started, will be completed by the agency, the process of which is going on. Quality cost based selection process is being used to determine the agency.

Under this, the agencies willing to work will have to implement the processes like demonstrating the working prototype of these toilets in front of ADA and providing the best facilities at a low cost.

These toilets will be operated and used through the agency for a minimum of 12 months. The designated agency must ensure that the entire block is in sanitary and operational conditions. Toilet seat blocks supplied with all necessary sanitary fitments are also guaranteed to be of the highest quality.

Functions like ensuring effective cleaning of septic waste, uninterrupted water supply and sanitation equipment, use of environment friendly chemicals, monitoring and supervision of gang-charts, cleaning schedules/cleaning-registers/attendance sheets/caretakers/management will also have to be carried out.

Along with this, to ensure that the toilet seat blocks remain operational 24×7 days with proper ventilation, lighting and accessories, work will also be done by the agency towards achieving the said objective.

All necessary information/signs and public awareness tools will be provided, which will not only serve the objective of Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 but will also make people adopt good civic practices and educate others about the same.

There will be signage boards in Hindi, English, Telugu, Gujarati and Marathi, men’s and women’s toiletry houses will be operated keeping in mind the colour coding.

In this, blue color will be used for men and pink color will be used for women. Apart from this, the signage boards showing these toilets will be shown in languages like Hindi, English, Telugu, Gujarati and Marathi.

Apart from this, helpline numbers in both Hindi and English languages will also be displayed at every booth to provide necessary assistance to the common people. Support to other teams engaged in ghat cleaning and public awareness campaigns will also be ensured from time to time to ensure complete compliance with Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, NGT directions and SBM 2.0 guidelines in operation of toilets.

It is noteworthy that out of the 500 toilet blocks to be installed here, 450 should be IWC/Odisha PAN (Indian Water Closet), out of which 10 should have provision for specially abled people.

The remaining 40 must be EWC (European Water Closet), with door signage for easy understanding. A regular control room will be set up to ensure that passengers using these toilets do not face any inconvenience.

There will also be a toll-free/mobile number (24/7) facility to attend calls and respond to redressal issues in a recorded manner.
