33 trainee IAS officers corona infected at LBSNAA

Dehradun, 21 November: So far 33 trainee Indian Administration Services (IAS) officers at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie in Uttarakhand have been found infected by global pandemic coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

After this, the academy has been closed for two days. All classes will be conducted only in online mode till November 30 at the academy.

However, other trainee officers and employees of the academy are also being subjected to corona screening.

This prestigious LBSNAA trains officers associated with the Indian Administrative Services (IAS).

Currently 428 trainee officers selected under the Indian Administrative Service are undergoing training in the 15-week foundation course running here.

After 33 trainees IAS officers were found to be corona infected, 150 other officers and academy staff were also subjected to corona examination on Saturday.

After this, the five hostels of the academy have been made a contention zone for 14 days. Also, the academy has been completely closed for the next 48 hours.

Sanjiv Chopra, director of the academy, told the media that on Friday, corona infection was confirmed among 33 trainee officers. All are housed in the Covid Care Center built on the premises.

β€œNow trainee officers are being trained in online mode. In addition to this, different times have been set for the trainee officers to read and eat in the library. Food will be provided to everyone in the room,” added Chopra.

SDM Mussoorie said that the people who came in contact with the infected patients are being investigated. The Covid Center has been built inside the training center to keep these infected people. The Academy’s 95th Foundation Day was celebrated here on October 13.
