Ahmedabad, 17 March: Ahmedabad police detained two people on Sunday after they allegedly attacked international students at Gujarat University while conducting Ramadan prayers at night.

On Saturday, a group of men allegedly targeted international students who were offering Ramadan prayers at their university dorm, instructing them not to pray elsewhere on campus. The rioters vandalised hostel rooms, shouted slogans, and hurled stones at the international students, injuring two of them.

According to the complaint, three students originally came to stop them, but then 15 more arrived, and the crowd quickly rose to almost 200. Police had filed a FIR against 15 persons on rioting allegations, and nine investigation teams were formed to track down the culprits.
