100 new Sainik Schools will be opened in a year: President Kovind

Lucknow, August 27: Addressing the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Captain Manoj Pandey UP Sainik School in Lucknow, President Ram Nath Kovind said that in a year many new Sainik Schools will be opened across the country. The Uttar Pradesh government has also urged to open 16 new Sainik Schools in the state.

The President not only praised Captain Manoj Pandey UP Sainik School, but also said that on August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the education of daughters in Sainik Schools across the country, but in this Sainik School in Uttar Pradesh, it is already three years old girls are getting educated. This year for the first time the daughters here will appear in the NDA exam, it is a very good thing.

โ€œFollowing this, other Sainik Schools were established by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India at various places in the country. This Sainik School has the distinction of being the first Sainik School in the country to admit girls to Sainik Schools also, the alumnus of this school, Cadet Late. Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey was awarded the country’s highest honor Param Vir Chakra,โ€ The President said.

The President said that the Uttar Pradesh government has sought approval for setting up 16 new Sainik Schools in the state. The proposal has been sent to the Central Government. It is likely to be approved soon.

The President unveiled the statue of Dr Sampoornanand at Captain Manoj Pandey UP Sainik School.

He also laid the foundation stone for the capacity doubling project of Sainik School and Girls Hostel and released the postage stamp.

During this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presented him a Rudraksh plant.

Governor Anandiben Patel and Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma were also present in the program.

In the evening, the President will attend the 26th convocation of Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences.
