Zelensky thanks Modi for willingness to hold peace talks

Kyiv, 5 Oct: Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking an initiative for talks between Russia and Ukraine for establishing peace. Zelensky, however, refused to talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin. He said that Putin never agreed to talks with Ukraine and deliberately weakened diplomatic relations.

Modi during a telephonic talk with Zelensky expressed India?s willingness to hold talks for establishing peace in the region. Zelensky also denied that any opinion poll was carried out in the four territories of Ukraine, which Russia has annexed. He appreciated Modi?s recent statement saying that this is not the time for war.
