Yogi govt to further improve studies of madrassas students, education to be made hi-tech

Lucknow, 03 October: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is trying to improve the students of madrassas. The government will provide them education with new technology.

For this, the Minority Welfare Department, in collaboration with the Basic Education Department, is taking far-reaching steps in the Madrasa Education Council to keep pace with other boards.

Under this, a training program is being organized for teachers of schools and madrassas in the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan located in the capital regarding the implementation of the recommendations of the National Education Policy-2020.

“Orientation Module on AI” will be launched to orient the teachers of schools and madrassas of the state, so that computational thinking can be included by including digital literacy, coding and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the curriculum of madrassa students will be able to get promotion.

Science-math kits given in 7442 madrassas

State Minority Welfare, Muslim Waqf and Haj Minister Dharampal Singh said that Aadhaar authentication of children has been done. At present, 13,92,325 boys and girls are studying in 16,513 madrassas of the state. Books are being provided in madrassas by the Basic Education Department. Till now, computers have been given in total 1275 madrassas. Book banks, science kits and mathematics kits have been given in 7442 madrassas.

22 videos made to give information about AI

Team Upaya, under the leadership of Monica S. Garg, Additional Chief Secretary, Minority Welfare and Waqf Department, has made 22 videos with the help of subject experts to provide information about AI to teachers of madrassas and schools. An investment in AI education is an investment in future generations. In this, by getting information about this new technology to the students of madrassas, they will be able to study new technology in world class colleges.

There are 16,513 madrassas in the state

The minister said that there are a total of 16,513 madrassas in the state, out of which 560 are state aided and 121 madrassas have mini ITIs. The state government has made necessary amendments from time to time to connect Madrasas with the main stream and to provide education at par with other boards.

He told that with the objective of expanding the knowledge of the students studying in the Madrasas run by the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Council, encouraging contemporary education, developing social and national unity and connecting them with the main stream, the UP Non-Government Arabic and Persian Madrasa Recognition Administration and Service Regulations 2016 were amended.

Also, from the academic session 2017, the medium of instruction in madrassas was made Hindi and English along with Urdu.
