Lucknow, April 24: The Uttar Pradesh power minister Arvind Kumar Sharma has taken a major decision in the interest of electricity consumers. He stated that consumers with domestic electricity connections up to 1 kilowatt have been given significant relief. Even if their balance becomes negative, their power connection will not be disconnected for 30 days.
The Energy Minister has issued instructions to officials in this regard. This arrangement has been implemented to provide relief to consumers.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is continuously taking important steps to improve the power system and provide relief to consumers.
A 5-stage SMS notification system has been implemented
The Energy Minister clarified that even in the case of a negative balance, connections will not be disconnected before the completion of a one-month cycle. Furthermore, to ensure transparency and consumer convenience, consumers will receive five mandatory SMS alerts before disconnection, giving them the opportunity to make timely payments. Consumers with 2 kW connections have also been provided relief. Their electricity connections will not be disconnected for a negative balance of up to โน200. A 5-stage SMS notification system has been implemented for these consumers as well, to avoid any inconvenience.
Nearly 3 million new power poles have been installed so far
In light of the increasing heat, Energy Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma has directed officials in all districts to expedite electrical maintenance work. He stated that extensive work has been undertaken to strengthen power supply in the state. Nearly 3 million new power poles have been installed so far. Transformer capacity has also been significantly increased.
The Energy Minister expressed confidence that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the state with the highest electricity supply in the country.
He stated that the people of the state will not face any power problems during this scorching heat. The government is fully vigilant and committed to ensuring uninterrupted and quality power supply.
