Lucknow, March 04: Yogi Adityanath government has decided to introduce a population control policy. So, Health department of the state is working fast on this project.

Confirming this, the state’s Medical and Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh said that it is difficult to make public welfare policies as the population is growing rapidly. The population of the country at the time of independence was 37 crores only but today it is 133.92 crore.

He said that family planning programs started from 1950 but it also went on like government programs due to which, the population increased but its relative resources did not grow so fast.

“Government schemes are made according to the population therefore, it is now necessary to have a policy on this subject. However, The government is fully committed to bring a law on population control,” informed Minister.

According to the Health Minister, the government is studying the policies of other states regarding population control. It is our endeavor that we study the population control policy of the entire country and make a policy that is the best.

According to the minister, when the right time comes, all the rules related to the population control policy will be made public.

At the same time, according to sources, there may be a provision in the policy of the government that if there are more than three children, the person concerned will not be eligible for a government job.

Uttar Pradesh population

Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state in the country with 20 million people live here. According to the last census of 2011, the state has 16.51 percent population of the entire country. In the year 2001, this percentage was 16.16 percent. There are 64 such cities in the state, which have a population of more than one lakh.

If Uttar Pradesh is considered a country, then it has become the 5th most populous country in the world. According to the last census of 2011, the percentage of child population in the population of Uttar Pradesh is 15.41 percent which is 30,791,331. In view of such limited resources, there has been a demand for population policy.

At the same time, the policy is implemented in some states like Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha and Rajasthan to promote family planning at the national level in the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also appealed for population control. Last year, on the occasion of Independence Day on August 15, PM had expressed his concern over population explosion.
