The Deputy Chief Minister said, it has been proved in the investigation that this is another name of SIMI.

Lucknow, 31 December: “Investigations have so far proved that the Popular Front of India (PFI) was involved in the violence in the name of peaceful protest  following the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). It is an another form of the Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).  It is being investigated in detail. This organization will be banned hence, the proposal for this is being considered soon”, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said these things on Tuesday.

He said that the government would soon come up with a proposal to ban this organization. It is in the consideration. The investigation so far has made it clear that the PFI was involved in spreading violence in the city. This was the organisation which collected the roiters as well as also assisted in provoking people.

Maurya further said that investigation has also revealed that after the ban on SIMI, the same name has been changed to PFI. Its work is going on the same way as Simi once did. This organization is also promoting incest.

During the demonstrations in Uttar Pradesh, the PFI has been found to be responsible for promoting violence in many places. About 20 PFI members have been arrested in this case. Among them is state president Noor Hasan of the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the political arm of the PFI. The Lucknow police also arrested PFI state convenor Wasim Ahmed and other office bearers in connection with large-scale violence and arson in the city.
