Lucknow, 24 May: Meteorological Department scientists at Chandrashekhar Azad University (CSA) have issued a weather warning in Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy storms in 27 districts of the West and Purvanchal regions within the next four days.

Along with the warning of the storm, meteorologists have issued an alert in all these districts. Instructions have been issued to all the District Magistrates (DM) to make preparations.

Meteorologists have asked to be alert about heavy storms due to the cyclone ‘Yaas’ in three-fourth districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department of CSA Kanpur has warned of storms in these districts between May 24 and May 28 for the next four days.

Scientist Dr SN Sunil Pandey said that Oman named cyclone ‘Yaas’ will develop on May 24, there will be a sea expansion of barely 500-600 km before the beach. The storm is expected to move north-westwards towards West Bengal and North Odisha coast by May 25 or 26. Conditions are favourable in terms of sea surface temperature and wind shear. In such a situation, it can turn into a severe cyclonic storm.

Subsequently, the proximity and potential penetration of the land may not allow it to be further strengthened. Nevertheless, the storm will be strong enough to cause bad weather conditions due to very heavy rainfall and high velocity thunderstorms.

Its effect can only be seen in dozens of districts of West and Purvanchal in Uttar Pradesh. This change in weather in central UP will not be very effective, but still some effect of the change in weather can be seen in the form of rain.
