Lucknow, April 13: A female patient died on Monday after falling from the fourth floor of a private hospital in the Banthra police station area of โโLucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh.
The family members created a ruckus, accusing the hospital administration of negligence. The Banthra police station police, who arrived on the information, took the body into custody and started an investigation.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (South) Amit Kumar Anand said that Sita Dixit (32), wife of Akshay Dixit, a resident of a village in Banthra, was admitted to Prasad Hospital on Sunday for neuro treatment due to mental illness. This morning, Sita died after falling from the fourth floor of the hospital. The family members instigated uproar in the hospital after the incident. The deceased woman’s lawyer brother Neeraj has accused the hospital administration of negligence.
The DCP South informed that upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, calmed the family, and examined the CCTV footage. Police found in the footage that the woman left the ward room at dawn and headed toward the stairs, but it’s unclear how she fell from the fourth floor. The body has been taken into custody.
DCP South stated that the family has filed a complaint with the police, leveling serious allegations against the hospital administration. The police are probing the matter.
