Lucknow, 28 Nov: Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has asked the assistance of all Assembly members, including those from opposition parties, in order for the Winter Session, which begins on Tuesday, to run smoothly.

In remarks to reporters prior to the opening of the session, he stated that ensuring the smooth operation of the House and upholding its dignity is the duty of both the opposition and the treasury benches.

The Supplementary Budget, as well as other legislative matters, would be discussed in the Uttar Pradesh assembly’s Winter session, he added.

“Over the past six years, the Uttar Pradesh legislature has taken up discussions on important issues while ensuring proper conduct of the proceedings in a dignified manner. The procedures were conducted in a courteous manner, in accordance with the fundamental essence of democracy via dialogue. This is also a source of interest for people because this is the house where a clash (maar-peet) once occurred.

Today, however, appropriate talks on public concerns are taking place,” Adityanath remarked.

Asserting that the administration was ready to address any opposition members’ queries, he added, “I appeal to all members, especially those of the opposition parties, to help maintain that dignity because it is also the responsibility of the opposition and not just the ruling party. The state government is ready for discussion on all issues of development and public importance,” the chief minister stated.

The chief minister continued, “I believe that members of the opposition parties will cooperate in maintaining the dignity of the House and in conducting the Winter session in a proper manner.”
