West Central Railway becomes country’s first fully electrified zone

 New Delhi, 30 March: The West Central Railway has become the first fully electrified zone in the country. Railway Minister Goyal shared this information on Twitter on Tuesday through a video of the operational train on the electrification route of Kota-Chittorgarh railway line.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted, “With the completion of electrification of Rajasthan’s Kota-Chittaurgarh railway line, West Central Railway has become the first fully electrified zone in the country.

He said that the trains passing through here will now be able to operate at a faster speed. This will provide benefits such as saving oil, reduction in travel time, and environmental protection.

It is noteworthy that West Central Railway came into existence as a new zonal railway with the formally issuing of notification of formation of this railway on 4 July 2002 by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.

It is headquartered in Jabalpur. Under this, Jabalpur, Bhopal and Kota are three divisions.
