Kolkata, 09 February: Justice Abhijeet Ganguly of Calcutta High Court has made important comments during the hearing in a case.

He has said that he has great confidence in the police. There is no separate complaint but the police are not allowed to work. He asked the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hare Street police station to appear in the court within half an hour. The police said that there was a delay because they came to know about the late attendance.

The judge said that due to the FIR being registered, he has been exempted from appearance.

The allegation was that FIR is not being registered in the PF corruption case. After this, Justice Ganguly asked the OC of Hare Street police station to appear in the court within half an hour. Following his instructions the FIR was registered. After this, OC Sumit Dasgupta of Hare Street police station appeared in the court. Besides this, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Law Department of Kolkata Police also attended the hearing.

Police’s counsel Ork Nagar said, โ€œWe came to know about the presence at 3.30. That’s why there was delay in coming.”

After this the judge said to the OC, ”Do you understand what will happen if you do not work properly?” We are all poor people. Not all of us have 10-storey houses. PF outstanding of about Rs 20 crore is due on two companies. Therefore, this will have to be dealt with strictly.”

The judge further said, ”Do you understand why I asked for filing an FIR? There have been two complaints against you, so I have asked you to appear. I always trust the police. When the police is allowed to work, the common people benefit.”
