Banda, February 12: A village head, along with his supporters, launched a deadly attack on a power staff returning from a camp under the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. The situation became even worse when the accused unleashed his German Shepherd dog on the workers. Only after police arrived at the scene were the employees saved.ย
The Electricity department alleged that the village head and his supporters surrounded the team and began beating them with sticks. To intimidate them, the accused also unleashed their pet German Shepherd on the employees. Five employees were seriously injured in this violent attack. These include Kallu (contract worker), Ramcharan, Dinesh, Mithai Lal, and Bachhraj.ย
The Banda Rural Police Station Station House Officer Bhaskar Mishra on Thursday stated that a case has been registered against the accused based on the complaint filed by contract worker Kallu. These include Somnath Shukla (village head), Ram Prakash Yadav, Dayaram Yadav, and an unidentified person.
The station house officer stated that raids are underway to arrest the accused. Meanwhile, the Electricity Department has demanded strict action against the culprits so that employees can continue to work without fear in the future.
