Lucknow, 6 Feb: A Varanasi court on Tuesday scheduled a hearing for the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on a petition demanding a survey of all closed basements in the Gyanvapi mosque complex for February 15.

According to the petition, there are “secret cellars” within the basements, which must be surveyed in order to expose the full truth about the Gyanvapi mosque. According to lawyer Madan Mohan Yadav, acting District Judge Anil Kumar has set February 15 as the next hearing date for the petition.

Rakhi Singh, the petitioner, is a founding member of the Vishwa Vedic Sanatan Sangh and a party in the Maa Shringar Gauri case, which resulted in the ASI’s inspection of the complex.

In the appeal, she requested that the ASI inspect all closed basements in the Gyanvapi mosque complex, which is adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath temple, according to her counsel Anupam Dwivedi. A map of the shuttered basements was also included in the petition.
