Home department has sent the file to the Central government

Lucknow, January 12: Police chief of Uttar Pradesh Omprakash Singh may get a three-month extension of service. According to sources, the Uttar Pradesh government’s home department has sent OP Singh’s service extension file to the central government after discussions with Chief Minister Yogi.

Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police OP Singh is a 1983 batch IPS officer. He is retiring on January 31 2020. After this, the names of IPS officers have also started appearing for the post of DGP. But the state government can give a three-month extension of service to OP Singh. If sources are to be believed, after discussing with Yogi Adityanath about DGP OP Singh, UP Home Department has sent a file of his name to the Central Government.

News of becoming new Chief Information Commissioner in the reckoning

There are also reports in the department that the current Chief Information Commissioner Javed Usmani is retiring on February 16, 2020. After retiring from the post of Director General of Police, OP Singh can be appointed new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of Uttar Pradesh. There are about 50 applications in the Administrative Reforms Department for the post of CIC, including the name of the current DGP of UP, OP Singh.
