Uttar Pradesh: Confirmed cases in 49 districts, total tally 846 in UP

Lucknow, April 17: Coronavirus continued to show no sign of decline in Uttar Pradesh as on Friday, the number of corona infected patients increased to 846 in the state.

Of these, 74 patients have been sent to your respective homes after getting healthy.

At the same time 49 districts of UP have confirmed cases of Covid-19. There were 773 corona positive cases in the state on Thursday. In this way, 73 new cases have come up in the last twenty four hours. Due to these, the total number of patients has crossed 800.

A total of 279 hotspots marked in three stages.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police are visiting all the marked sealed areas (hotspots).

Action has been initiated by identifying 179 hotspots of the first phase. So far 1, 81,000 houses have been identified. It has a population of over eleven lakhs. Similarly, action has been taken by marking 93 hot spots in 25 districts of the second phase. More than 12, 88000 people live here. The number of districts in the third phase has also been increased to 05. In these, action has been taken by marking 07 hotspots. Around 20,000 people have been marked here, informed Awasthi.

Jamaatis are being sent to jail

With this, foreign nationals associated with Tablighi Jamaat are now being sent to temporary and regular jails. A total of 45 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered against such foreigners. At the same time, 259 passports have been confiscated.

2962 corona samples have been tested single day

Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare Amit Mohan Prasad informed that the number of test samples to be sent to various laboratories of the state is also increasing continuously. On Thursday, 3200 samples were sent for testing. Of these, 2962 were tested to diagnose.

03 positive pool tests confirmed by different tests

Prasad said that with this, the scope of pool testing has also been expanded. Uttar Pradesh is the first state in the country to start pool testing. After its opening with samples from Agra’s buffer zone, on Thursday, test samples from Lucknow, Gonda, Bareilly, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit and Agra were sent for pool testing. Of these, a total of 290 samples were sent for examination by making 58 pools. The report of 55 pools has been negative, while the report of 03 pools has been positive. These pools belonged to Lucknow, Gonda and Agra. Subsequently, all of them were confirmed Covid-19 cases by conducting their separate tests.

Earlier, in Agra, 150 samples of five each making 30 pools were sent to the lab for examination. These samples were brought from the buffer zone outside the Containment Zone in Agra to confirm whether the infection was confined to the Containment Zone only or has reached to the Buffer Zone. In this, all 30 pools were tested negative. Since then, pool testing has been started by bringing samples from other districts, informed officer.

Not a single case in Pilibhit, Hathras and Maharajganj

The Principal Secretary said that with this there are 993 isolation wards in the state and 10714 people who came in very close contact with Corona infected people are in the facility quarantine.

He informed that after the emerging of corona infection in three districts, Pilibhit, Hathras and Maharajganj of the state, there is not a single case at present. All patients have fully recovered. These districts are Pilibhit, Hathras and Maharajganj.

However, the administration has been asked to be constantly vigilant, so that the corona does not spread again. At the same time, instructions have also been given to the administration of these districts to send test samples, so that the real situation can be known, apprised officer.
