Banda, November 24: A married woman in a village in the Kalinjar police station area of โโBanda district in Uttar Pradesh committed suicide by consuming poison on Monday. Hurt by the police’s lack of action in the molestation case, the woman took this extreme step, claimed family.
In this case, CO Naraini Krishnakant Tripathi said that according to the family members of a married woman living in the village, she was molested a month ago. The woman filed a complaint against a man from the same village at the police station, but instead of taking action, the police kept delaying the case.
The CO added that according to the family, distressed by the lack of justice and the constant humiliation, the married woman consumed poison on Monday morning.
The family members allege that if the police had taken action against the molester in time, their daughter would not have had to take this drastic step.
In this case, CO Naraini is getting the matter investigated and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
