LUCKNOW, 05: In view of the surging infection of coronavirus, Uttar Pradesh, the country’s largest populous state, has once again intensified all the preparations related to health services. The health department is ensuring the availability of essential medicines in all the districts of the state. From this week itself, door-to-door distribution of medical kits will be done.
A spokesperson of the state government said here on Wednesday that the government is fully alert in view of the increase in the number of cases of Covid in the state. With the aim of ensuring the health and safety of the people of the state, a special campaign for door-to-door distribution of medical kits will be launched soon. Uttar Pradesh Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (UPMSCL) will distribute one crore medical kits on behalf of the state government.
“So far, 77 lakh adult medical kits and more than 25 lakh children’s medical kits have been distributed by the monitoring committees in the state. UPMSCL GM Dr Raj Kumar said that medical kits are ready for asymptomatic and symptomatic patients, which are being distributed.
He said that in this kit, two vials of paracetamol syrup, one vial of multi-vitamin syrup and two packets of ORS solution have been kept in the medical kit for children from newborn to one year and children of one to five years of age. The medical kit for children in the age group of 6-12 years and adolescents in the age group of 13-17 years consists of eight paracetamol tablets, seven multi-vitamin tablets, three ivermectin tablets of 6 mg each and two packets of ORS solution.
He said that keeping in mind the third wave, elaborate arrangements are being made in all hospitals of the state. Care is also being taken that there is no shortage of hospitals.
Stock of essential medicines plentiful in the state
Dr Raj informed that all the medicines are in stock in the state. There will be no shortage of medicines in the state for the next two to five months.
He informed that the stock of medicines related to black fungus is in the state for four to five months. At the same time, stock of Remdesivir, Paracetamol, Ivarmectin is also in proper quantity.
