UP: STF arrests Swami Prasad Maurya’s OSD for duping unemployed youths

LUCKNOW, April 21: The Lucknow unit of the Special Task Force (STF) on Thursday arrested five people, including the private secretary of the former minister Swami Prasad Maurya, who duped unemployed youth on the pretext of getting jobs in various government departments.

Meanwhile, appointment letters, identity cards, bank accounts, secretary passes and other things have been recovered from the accused.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) STF Deepak Kumar said that five vicious fraudsters have been arrested from Hazratganj area. The accused Kushinagar resident Armaan Khan is the personal secretary of former minister Swami Prasad Maurya.

โ€œApart from this, Asghar Ali, a resident of Deoria, Mohd, a resident of Basti. Faizi is Vishal and Amit Rao is a resident of Kushinagar,โ€ DSP STF apprised.

During interrogation, the accused admitted that they cheated unemployed youths in the name of getting government jobs.

Asghar Ali told that Armaan Khan was the OSD of former minister Swami Prasad Maurya. He along with his gang used to take money in the name of getting government jobs to the unemployed. After this he was misled by giving duplicate appointment letters. Till now those people have cheated crores of rupees, whose victims are most of the people of Purvanchal.

They have been handed over to Hazratganj police station for further action against the accused.
