UP: So far, 31,700 medical staff to get Corona vaccine on January 16, PM Modi to speak with beneficiaries

Lucknow, 15 January: Corona vaccination drive is starting across the state from Saturday.

Around, 31,700 health workers will be vaccinated on the first day. However, vaccination will be kicked off after the address of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister’s address will be broadcast through webcasting in all districts. Vaccination will be from 9 am to 5 pm.

 Uttar Pradesh Health Minister Jai Pratap Singh told in a press conference held at Lok Bhawan on Friday that hundred health workers will be vaccinated at all 317 centers in the state. It also includes paramedical staff along with physicians. Prime Minister Modi will also talk to people who have been vaccinated through video conferencing.

He apprised that the information of all the health workers on the ‘Cowin’ portal has been updated. Employees have started receiving information through SMS. The district administration and health department together will make this campaign successful. Both Serum Institute of India’s ‘Covishield’ and Bharat BioTech’s ‘Covaxin’ vaccines will be given on the day of vaccination on Saturday. After this, the second dose will be given 28 days later. Immunity to the coronavirus will arise in the body 14 days after both doses.

Health Minister informed that so far the state of Uttar Pradesh has received 10.75 lakh vaccines in three days and just got 25 thousand more vaccines. So far, Uttar Pradesh has received 10.55 lakh doses of Covishield and 20 thousand doses of Covaxin.

He said that in the vaccination, there is no meaning of common and special in the state. No matter how effective, vaccination will be done according to the prescribed stages of vaccination.

He further informed that health workers will be vaccinated in the first phase, frontline workers in the second phase, people over 50 years of age in the third phase and then those under the age of 50 who are suffering from a serious illness.

The Health Minister said that in the first phase, nine lakh health workers are to be vaccinated and preparations are to be completed in three days. Out of a total of 1,500 centers for vaccination in the state, 317 centers will be vaccinated on the first day. In big cities, its number can also be increased as per the need. Preparations have been made to vaccinate nine lakh health workers of all government and private hospitals in three days. There is a preparation to apply vaccine on Monday and Friday, two days a week.

“Five employees will be present in every session at all vaccination centers in the state. Two police personnel, an investigator, a vaccinator and a mobilizer will be deployed in it. Each vaccination center will have two vaccine carriers and four conditioning icepacks in each, vaccine, AD syringe, hub cutter, viol opener and anaphylaxis kit, depending on the number of beneficiaries,” Singh added.
