UP: People travelling UP from other states during Holi festival to be tested for Covid-19

On the International Women’s Day, only women will be vaccinated at three booths in all the districts.

So far, 20.15 lakh people have been vaccinated in the state.

In the last twenty-four hours, 117 new cases of infection came out, 1,647 active cases.

Lucknow, 07 March: Focus testing drive will be conducted once again from March 13 to 27 to find out the level of corona infection across the state.

During upcoming Holi festival, people, coming from other states including those where virus infection is on the rise, will be tested for Covid-19.

Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad told on Sunday that from March 13 to 27, in the state, focus-testing campaign on those people who sell Holi colours, work in โ€˜Dhabaโ€™ or restaurants or work on shops of liquor and cannabis will be carried out.

He said that on March 8, International Women’s Day, a unique initiative is being taken for women in the state. In all 75 districts, there will be only three female health workers at the three vaccine booths, who will vaccinate women having comorbidites condition in the age group of 45 years to 60.

ACS Medical & Health informed that vaccination of people above 60 years of age is going on across the state. People between the ages of 45 and 60 who are suffering from multiple diseases are also being vaccinated.

He said that 20,15,144 people including health workers, front line workers and people above 60 years of age have already been administered Covid jabs, of which 14,85,893 have been given the first dose and 5,29,251 people have got the second dose .

He informed that Rs 250 per dose has been fixed by the government in private hospitals. If more than Rs 250 is charged, inform the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the district. He told that any person can get his free vaccination by reaching in government hospitals.

Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health informed that 117 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the state in the last twenty four hours. During this time 191 people were discharged on getting healthy. The number of people recovering from new patients remains higher. At the same time, the number of active cases has come down to 1,647.

A total of 1, 08,486 samples were screened in the state on a single day yesterday. A total of 3, 20, 86,306 samples have been tested so far in the state.

He said that out of the total active cases, 707 people are in home isolation whereas 82 people are being treated in private hospitals, in addition to this, patients are admitted in government hospitals.

He informed that so far 5, 93,895 people have been recovered from Covid-19 in the state. A population of 15,29,30,526 of 3,14,96,780 households has been surveyed through 5,12,275 team days in 1,85,906 regions through surveillance teams in the state.

Through e-Sanjeevani, 4,737 people received medical advice in the state in 24 hours and a total of 5, 96,489 people have so far received medical advice.

Prasad said that a large number of fresh cases of coronavirus are constantly being reported in many states and countries. In this case, the people of the state should be careful and do not do any kind of negligence. Infection in the state has reduced, but has not ended.

Appealing to all the people, he said that use masks in public places, wash hands with soap and water and follow the Covid protocol completely by making a distance of two yards.
