Shahjahanpur, 23 May: A case has been filed in Uttar Pradesh against a person who reportedly shared an indecent image of Baba Bageshwar Dham’s self-styled godman Dhirendra Krishna Shastri on social media.

Circle Officer (Tilhar) Priyank Jain stated that the post was published on Facebook by Irshad Hussain, a resident of Dabhaura village in Shahjahanpur district. The lawsuit was filed when local Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Suresh Sharma Pappu filed a complaint alleging that the post was obscene and offended people’s religious emotions.

A case has been filed under the IPC and Information Technology (IT) Act under Sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion, race, place of birth, or residence), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), and 505(2) (statements creating or promoting enmity, hatred, or ill-will between classes).
