UP-GIS-2023: Mukesh Ambani to pump in Rs 75k cr in UP; Jio 5-G services in every village by 2023

Lucknow, 10 February: Reliance Group Chairman and billionaire Mukesh Ambani made major announcements for the state during the three-day UP Global Investors Summit, which kicked off Friday.

Ambanii announced an investment of Rs 75,000 crore over the next four years to roll out 5G services to every village, expand telecom network including retail and new energy businesses. About one lakh new jobs are expected to be created with this investment.

He claimed that within five years, Uttar Pradesh would become a $1 trillion economy. He said that his group’s telecom arm Jio will start 5G services across the state and by 2023 it will reach every city, village and town in UP. Besides, the oil-to-telecom conglomerate would set up 10 GW of renewable capacity and start a bio-energy business in the state, he said.

Reliance also announced two pilot projects Jio-School and Jio-AI-Doctor through Jio Platforms for affordable education and healthcare in villages and small towns of the state.

Ambani expressed his intention to increase the sourcing of agriculture and non-agriculture products of UP manifold. This will benefit farmers, local artisans, craftsmen and small and medium scale industries.

Addressing PM Modi, Ambani said that the country has developed a lot since Modi became the PM.
