UP: Forest department stressing on planting trees mentioned in Valmiki Ramayana

Lucknow, June 25: The Forest Department will give more emphasis on planting of plants of Ramayana period this year under the thirty crore tree plantation drive. Nursery has also been prepared for this.

The number of trees mentioned in Valmiki Ramayana has decreased in the state or many trees are not found in the state. The Forest Department has taken an initiative to promote some of those trees this year.

In this regard, on Friday, the Chief Conservator of Forests said that there has been a shortage of trees of Ramayana era in the state. For this reason, this year by running a special campaign on it, such plants like Saul, Mango, Ashoka, Kalpa tree, Banyan, Mahua etc., which are described in Valmiki Ramayana will be planted. They are getting ready to plant more trees. People are also being made aware of its use.
