UP, first state in the country to test 40 million samples

Lucknow, August 19: Amidst the rapid spread of lethal disease coronavirus infection in the state, the Yogi government has achieved another feat in terms of checking the infection.

Uttar Pradesh has now become the first state in the country to examine a total of 40 lakh corona samples.

UP has been continuously on the top in the case of daily testing for some time.

After this, on August 14, the state came first in the country, surpassing Tamil Nadu in the case of total corona samples, and now it has crossed the first test of 40 lakhs.

According to Additional Chief Secretary Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad, a total of 1, 07,768 corona samples were tested in various laboratories in the state on Tuesday. With this, the figure of total corona samples examined in the state has reached 40, 75,174. At the same time, more than one lakh corona patients in the state have become healthy after treatment.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to continue the process of increasing the screening of Covid-19.

CM said that 75 to 80 thousand rapid antigen tests and 40 to 45 thousand RTPCR method tests should be done daily in the state.

Covid infection is being investigated by 120 government labs and 39 private labs in the state, out of which RTPCR test facility has been established in 33 government labs. Instant testing facility is being provided in 115 district machines and medical colleges in the state. By the end of this month, RTPCR facility is being provided in 17 additional labs.

According to the Additional Chief Secretary-Medical and Health, Department of Health Department and Medical Education Department, RTPCR Labs are constantly expanding. The laboratory at Ghaziabad has also started. Equipment is being provided to establish more RTPCR laboratories for Ballia, Pratapgarh and Azamgarh in the district hospitals of the Health Department from ICMR. There will soon be established laboratories.
