UP cabinet decisions: Sportpersons to get govt job directly, Ajay Mishra new Advocate General many more

Lucknow, May 10: The Uttar Pradesh government has appointed senior Supreme Court advocate Ajay Kumar Mishra as Advocate General (AG). The proposal for his name was approved in the cabinet meeting held at Lok Bhavan here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Meanwhile, a total of 13 important proposals have been approved in the cabinet meeting.

After the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs and Finance Minister of Yogi government Suresh Khanna told reporters that Ajay Kumar Mishra has been appointed the AG.

Khanna told that Ajay Kumar Mishra is currently working in the Supreme Court for the last 10 years. He started his practice from Allahabad High Court. His father has been a judge of the High Court. A decision has been taken in his name in the cabinet meeting. The resignation letter of Raghavendra Singh, who was Advocate General in UP, has also been accepted.

In another proposal, the Yogi government has taken a big step for the players. Now promising players of UP will get direct jobs in government service.

Minister Suresh Khanna informed that in relation to the appointment of medal winning sportspersons resident of Uttar Pradesh in international sports on gazetted posts, the Council of Ministers has passed a proposal that 24 posts can be directly posted on gazetted posts in nine departments. For this a committee will be constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. This committee will decide the selection of players in government service. Sportspersons of Olympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth will get this benefit.

“Recruitment will be done on posts like BDO, BSA, DPRO, Assistant Sports Officer, Naib Tehsildar. Players who have won medals from 1st September 2020 onwards will get a chance to become officials directly,” Minister apprised.

He further informed, UP government has signed MoU for maintenance of five airports. The government will spend seven crore rupees per year on their maintenance. The government has changed the name of Bhatkhande Sangeet Mahavidyalaya to Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya. All institutions in the field of arts including music will be affiliated to Bhatkhande University. Now it has been given university status.

Along with this, the cabinet has also approved the proposal for the next assembly session.

Suresh Khanna told that from May 23, there will be a budget session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. The cabinet has also given its approval on this proposal.

Along with Khanna, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Welfare Girish Yadav, Additional Chief Secretary Information Navneet Sehgal were also present on this occasion.
