UP Board results: Sitapur’s Priyanshi tops in 10th, Mahoba’s Shubh Chhapra in 12th

Prayagraj, 25 April: The result of the High School and Intermediate Examination 2023 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh (YPU Board) was announced by the Director-Chairman of Secondary Education Mahendra Dev and UP Board Secretary Divyakant Shukla at the board headquarters on Tuesday. He informed that a total of 89.78 percent students have passed in high school and 75.52 percent in intermediate.

Board Secretary said that the percentage of boys and girls passed in high school was 86.64 and 93.34 respectively. Whereas 69.34 percent of boys and 83 percent of girls passed in the intermediate examination. This time too, girls were ahead in the UP board examinations. Leaving the boys behind, he not only achieved better results in the board exams but also registered his name in the top list.

Priyanshi Soni of Sitapur district has topped the high school examination. With 98.33 percent marks, she has brought laurels to the girls in the state, while Kushagra from Kanpur Dehat secured the second position by scoring 97.83 percent marks. Ayodhya’s Miskhat Noor has also got second place in the state. Krishna Jha of Mathura and Arpit Gangwar of Pilibhit have secured the third position in class 10 with 97.67 per cent marks. And Shubh of Mahoba has topped in the 12th examination. He has got 97.80 percent marks.

The director informed that the high school and intermediate examinations had started from February 16 at a total of 8373 examination centres. He informed that this year 58,85,745 candidates had registered for the High School and Intermediate examination, which included 31,16,487 students of class 10th and 27,69,258 students of class 12th. But 4,31,571 students had skipped the exam, in which 2,08,953 students of class 10 and 2,22,618 students of class 12 did not appear in the exam.

He further informed that the high school examination was completed on March 3 and the intermediate examination on March 4. After this, from March 18, the evaluation work of answer sheets was started at 258 centers across the state. A total of 3.19 crore answer sheets were to be evaluated by April 1, but for the first time the board started the evaluation by training the examiners, due to which the work was completed a day before the scheduled time i.e. on March 31. As many as 1,43,933 examiners were engaged for the evaluation.

The board’s secretary said that this time the UP board has broken the record of about 30 years by completing the high school and intermediate examinations without re-examination. For the first time in the high school examination, the examination of 20 marks in each subject has been conducted on the OMR sheet. The evaluation of this sheet was started by the UP Board during the examination itself. The work of its monitoring was assigned to the Additional Secretaries of all regional offices.
