UP Board marks improvement exams begin amid tight vigil

Lucknow, 18 September: Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh (UP Board) Prayagraj’s High School and Intermediate Marks Improvement Board Examination-2021 started successfully on Saturday at a total of 590 examination centers across the state.

From the state level control room set up for centralized online monitoring of Lucknow, a close watch was kept on the district control rooms and all the examination centers established in all the districts of the state.

Every activity was monitored by the officers and staff of the Central Control Room tills the opening of question papers before the examination and the binding of answer sheets after the examination. Departmental supervisors inspected the examination centers in all 75 districts of the state.

Meanwhile, Aradhana Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary of Secondary Education Department,

also checked the system by reaching the examination centers of Lucknow district.

The Additional Chief Secretary first saw through CCTV the activities of the Central Control Room from opening of question papers to distribution in various districts. She gave necessary instructions to all the officers and employees posted in the control room regarding the monitoring of the board examination.

After inspecting the Central Control Room, in the first shift, ACS Shukla inspected the Rampal Trivedi Inter College at Gosaiganj and the Government Girls Inter College, Gomtinagar, also she oversaw the examinations of Navjeevan Inter College, Mohanlalganj and Government Girls Inter College Shringarnagar in the second shift. He reviewed the maintenance of question papers and answer sheets and compliance with the COVID protocols.

During this, the Additional Chief Secretary directed that all the mobile phones available at the examination center should be collected and kept safe in a cupboard before the commencement of the examination.

She also said that while opening the bundle of question papers and sealing and packing of answer sheets should be done under the surveillance of CCTV cameras and in the presence of Static Magistrate.

ACS Shukla directed the present center administrator that after the commencement of the examination, the room invigilator should make all the candidates aware of the general instructions given in the question papers so that the examinees do not face any dilemma.

The Additional Chief Secretary expected the center administrator and the room invigilators to discharge their full responsibilities in conducting the examination without copying and in a clean manner.

During the inspection, Shukla was accompanied by Special Secretary Secondary Education Uday Bhanu Tripathi and Joint Director of Education, Lucknow Circle Surendra Kumar Tiwari.
